I LOVED STORY CHICAGO. What a great group of creatives in the church using their gifts for the kingdom. I left inspired, challenged and encouraged going to this conference and I highly encourage others to check it out next year. It was so great to connect with Heidi Burkey, Matt Knisely, Tim Dyer , Vera Leung and finally meet The Trey Hill. Thankful to Ben Arment and staff for putting on such a great gathering and inviting me to be a part of it.

I support and advocate for the organizations I work for and I would support each one of them with my own money. Here are just a few of them…….

Can’t believe it’s been over 3 years since I’ve come to visit my Grandpa Havens and Aunt Nancy. They are pretty much the only family I have in the United States besides my mom, brothers and sister. Grandpa is a huge Green Bay Packers fan and today he is sportin’ one of his many cool hats. So thankful for this time to visit with them.

Last Summer I had the privledge of capturing stories for Watoto in Uganda with my good friend, Sydney Berry. We had a blast and in 5 days met the most amazing people who shared their story with us to share with the world. Please take some time and go thru the exhibit stories. I promise you will be inspired, touched and encouraged by David, Moses, Justine, Eugene, Barbara and many more. . All I ask is that you continue telling their story.

Read the Story. Buy a Print. Change a Nation.

This year I got to spend my Birthday in Rwanda with the street boys I love and adore so much. I believe in a day when they will no longer live on the streets…when they will each have a home and be able to provide for themselves and their families. Africa New Life is having a massive impact in the lives of these boys and I can’t wait to see where each of them are at in a few years.

Meet Jovanus, a seven-year-old boy from Kageyo, Rwanda who I met fall of 2010 when I came to do stories for Africa New Life. I first met his bright, smiling face walking around the village and noticed that his legs were backwards. I sat with his mother in their home as she explained to me and Natalie how his legs slowly turned this way when he was a baby.  Through Africa New Life, he was able to receive life-altering surgery in Uganda on May 18th to fix his legs.  Natalie Green, Africa New Life’s US Representative, was able to visit him and see how he was recovering.  She captured video of Jovanus learning to walk in therapy, and of him singing one of his favorite songs with her.

8/30/2011 I am here now in Rwanda staying with Africa New Life in Kigali and I couldn’t believe my eyes with Jovanus came walking through the front door yesterday afternoon. He has crutches and is doing therapy for walking…but wow. He has straight legs!!! How incredible! I am so blown away at God’s goodness. A true miracle for Jovanus. I snapped an updated photo of him with lots of smiles and thumbs up… Such a precious boy he is.

Recovery photos by Natalie Green.

Kageyo…..where he lives

Jovanus Today — August 30th, 2011 So thankful to Jesus for his miracle.
