had a 24 hour layover in Jordan today and it’s been a dream of mine to go to Petra. Today it became a reality – met some new friends via a friend I have in Africa – and we rented a car in Amman and made the 3hr journey to Petra. It was the most beautiful site I can imagine. Although, I will say I must have climbed a thousand steps ( literally) My legs are numb at the moment. The experience was worth the journey. Seeing an entire city carved into the rocks – just blows your mind at how it they would have carved this in 1200 BC. wow. Here’s some images to share with you.

I was shooting a conference in Austin this past week where Toms Shoes was set up selling shoes. An old friend, Julie, was on a trip with me to South Africa in 2007 and happened to be at this conference…… She recently had a friend paint her a pair of toms and it happened to be my photo.. I don’t know the artists name, but they did an incredible job. Just wanted to share it all with you.
They did it – The Rescue took place in hundreds of cities around the world on April 24th. People from all walks gathered at demanded to be rescued in their city by a mogul ( celebrity, state respresentative, ect.. ) before they could leave that spot. All across the country, they waited and pleaded for a mogul to come out to their location and help them bring stand up for the child soldiers of the LRA in Uganda, who desperately need to be rescued. They are just young kids who have been abducted and brain washed to Kill. Over 500 of of these young people stood outside of Harpo productions in chicago, demanding that Oprah rescue them and be their Mogul. After 6 days of listening to singing outside her studio, she came out this morning and addressed the crowd about the situation in Uganda. She then decided to include them in her show today and gave invisible children 10 minutes of Air times. They demanded it, and she did it.
