from my dear friend Raychel Deppe

“stress sucks. a little advice. something i rediscovered recently. no need to be stressed. just take ONE step at a time. dont think about EVERYTHING that needs to be done all at once. just focus on the job you are doing presently….it will put everything into perspective and make things not seem so BIG, because really they aren’t….they just seem that way because your mind is not able to grasp everything at the same time so it is feeling overloaded. if you have to, write everything down that you need to do today…and then forget about it! when you finish a task, refer back to your list, and cross off the one you just completed (creates a positive sense of accomplishment). then move on to the next thing on your list…and focus ONLY on the next task…no more. “

New York City Twestival

Over 250,000 was raised in over 200+ cities around the world on one night. Through Twestival. Many of you know i’m a big “twitterer” and you can find out just about anywhere and everywhere I go by following me on there. Charity Water hooked up with Twitter and created twestival to bring clean water to the world. Each city held  a fundraising event and gathered all different types of people from the famous to the geek. I was lucky to be in NYC for this night – though my heart was in my hometown of Austin. NYC had over 1000 people attend with music and Jerry Cans lining the room. The atmosphere was exciting and electric. I was only able to stay for a short while before I headed to Angels and Kings where my work was on display for Falling Whistles Benefit.

ANGELS and KINGS – Laundry Screening – Falling Whistles Benefit

I’ve had the priveledge over the past few weeks of touring around with Falling Whistles to cities where they are rallying up young people to do great things and be passionate about the issues in the world knowing that we can do something other than just sit around watch things unfold. Sean, David and Jonathan are headed to the Democratic Republic of Congo next week to start working on logistics of the Art Therapy programs for child soldiers they’ve been raising money for over the last year. Please be in prayer for these boys are they venture into very dangerous and unstable areas of the country.
