It’s been a little over a week since i’ve been home and i’m still processing this past months trip. I’ve had a lot of editing to do this week, so most processing has been done in front of a screen. It’s such different worlds that are across the globe and unless you’ve been there and seen it, there are no words to explain. Poverty is something that hit me like no other on this trip. I thought i had seen that by going to the trash dump in Nicaragua and the slums in India, but none of this compared to the situation in Africa. People are Starving of malnutrition… the children are sitting there helpless with blown up stomachs and in desperate need of healthy food. It’s reality.
I head back to Africa in a little less than 4 weeks and on this trip I will be photographing, but even more so I want to spread love and joy to the people of the war torn Congo. If you don’t know what is going on in this country, I would encourage you to type Congo News in google and educate yourself on situation in this country. They need so much prayer right now. This war is causing thousands and thousands of displaced people and the UN world food program isn’t even able to deliver to this area anymore out of fear of putting their own staff at risk. Check out these girls who just picked up and moved to the Congo – they have a video they upload every month http://www.congocast.org
