When you picture Iraq – what do you see ?
I pictured bombs blowing up, desolate dirt roads with humvees patrolling.
hardly the truth.
I met one of the most kind, beautiful cultures i’ve ever experienced in the world - Northern Iraq (Kurdistan ). They love America and expressed their gratitude in sending our men to free them from the Saddam Regime. The Kurdish people have lived through war and persecution, yet they are now living in freedom – freedom to study, freedom to dream, freedom to live in peace.

also.. there will be a book coming out with the stories and photos galore. so keep your ears open for it in the future.

Beautiful photos! Thanks for posting these. I would like to hear more about how you captured some of these shots (where they were captured, who you photographed, how you found the people, locations, etc). Perhaps a future blog post?
